Student Project – Branding & Web Design
KidSenses is a children’s museum in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. They are a community staple and provide fun exhibits and events for the town’s children. When this project was completed, their website was not very well designed from a usability or visual standpoint. This project involved redesigning the entire website as well as the museum’s branding.
The redesigned website aims to clearly present information about the exhibits and events, but since KidSenses a children’s museum, it is also bright and fun so that it looks like a place children will enjoy. The five color palette points back to the five senses from which the museum takes its name. A cast of custom illustrated animal characters helps describe the different aspects of the museum in a kid friendly manner. The site is well organized with intuitive navigation to make it easier for visitors to find the content they are looking for. This redesign is a working prototype created using Adobe Xd to showcase the navigation as well as the look and feel of the site.
